Florence Hartmann who was convicted on 19 July 2011 by the ICTY Appeals Chamber for disclosing the “legal reasoning” of two Tribunal decisions, was sentenced to pay a 7,000 euro fine in two installments of 3,500 euro each, the first of which was payable on 18 August 2011.
 
Thanks to your donations, we were able to raise the necessary first € 3 500. Florence and we sincerely wish to thank you for your solidarity and generosity, a model of mobilization in this summer season.
 
Thus, on Tuesday Aug.16, Florence was able to inform the President of the ICTY that the necessary funds had been placed in the French bank account "Comité de soutien à Florence Hartmann" at the Crédit Mutuel in Villeneuve d'Ascq (France).
 
The fund raising campaign will go on so the next (and last) € 3 500 can be raised before September 19.
 
In the meantime we will let you know of any new development and of other procedures Florence might undertake.

The promptness of your reaction, the variety of nationalities and geographical origins of the donors as well as the support messages that were so often accompanying your donations demonstrate that Florence's fight has been understood and supported for what it is: a defence of international justice. While Florence Hartmann and her counsels are working on the legal aspects, we must deal with the implementation of the judgement, which orders

the payment of a fine of 7 000 €, the first half being due at the latest by August 18th and the rest (3 500 €) by September the 19th at the latest.

We cannot accept that Florence spends even a single € for a crime that is not a crime and pays
on her own funds her fight for values that are ours and that she defended in our name.

This is why  under the control of a baiwe are launching a fundraising campaign aiming at raising a deposit at least identical to the amount of the
7 000 € fine.

This amount will be deposited on a bank account that the NGO “Mothers for Peace” especially
opened today for this purpose.

This subscription has received Florence Hartmann's approval. It will allow her to pay the fine, if
needed, or to show her goodwill, if the procedures aimed at assessing the validity and the
legality of the sentence she is currently undertaking have not come off yet.

We need to raise 3500 € before August 18th and a total of 7 000 € before September 19th.
Furthermore, in anticipation of the legal fees, we would like to raise 10 000 €.

Today there are 7 500 of us who signed the petition. So it only takes each of us to donate a
small amount (from 2 € up) to quickly raise the necessary funds. Evidently, the more we are,
greater the symbol will be.

For transparency purposes, we will e-mail each subscriber a receipt, but please note that it will
not be eligible for tax deduction.

Also we will regularly publish on the news page of our website
(www.preserverlajusticeinternationale.org) the amount already raised. If we were to exceed the
needed amounts, we will then suggest affecting the donations to the payment of the counsels’
fees or any other expected legal fees.

Poštovani, 

Kao što znate,  Međunarodni kazneni sud za bivšu Jugoslaviju je potvrdio presudu Florence Hartmann za nepoštivanje suda. 

Žalbeno vijeće je opravdalo ovo ograničenje slobode govora Florence Hartmann činjenicom da je ona jedini novinar koji je „otkrio pravnu argumentaciju“ na kojoj su suci temeljili dvije svoje odluke i koju su željeli sačuvati tajnom kako bi prikrili kršenje zakona od svoje strane.

Ovo presuđujući, MKSJ ukazuje na to da se neće suzdržati od povratka cenzuri kako bi izbjegli bilo kakvu kritiku međunarodnih sudaca. Presuda uspostavlja opasan pravni presedan koji je u suprotnosti s Deklaracijom o pravima čovjeka i građanina (čl.10. i 121), s Europskom konvencijom o ljudskim pravima (čl.10.) i s Univerzalnom deklaracijom o ljudskim pravima (čl. 19.).

Kao što je prije navedeno, mi snažno osuđujemo ovu neprimjerenu presudu.

Florence Hartmann i njezina obrana već rade na tome da bi  jedna imparcijalna instanca prihvatila da utvrdi i ispravi  brojna kršenja njezinih temeljnih prava počinjenih od strane MKSJ u tijeku cijele procedure kao i kod konačne presude.  

U isto vrijeme, postavlja se pitanje izvršenja presuda, koja naređuje da se plati kazna u iznosu od 7000 eura, prva rata do 18. augusta i ostatak od 3500 eura do 19. septembra. 

Ne možemo prihvatiti da gospođa Hartmann potroši niti jedan eura za žločin koji nije zločin i da plati od svojih sredstava njezinu borbu za vrijednosti koje su naše i koje brani u naše ime.

Ovo je razlog zašto smo krenuli u kampanju prikupljanja novca za što se obraćamo Vama potpisnicima peticije. 

Želimo položiti depozit identičan sumi od 7000 eura.

Iznos će biti deponiran na posebnom računu nevladine orgnizacije „Majke za mir“ koji je u te svrhe danas otvoren u Francuskoj
